About Kevin
With decades of experience as a songwriter, guitarist, producer, and mixer, Kevin Salem has worked with some of the most influential voices in indie rock, film, and TV. His credits include artists like Yo La Tengo, Rachael Yamagata, Bad Brains, and Freedy Johnston, as well as scoring and producing original music for award-winning dramas across HBO, Netflix, and Korean television. Over the years, Kevin’s studio has become a creative home for both emerging artists and industry veterans. Whether guiding a debut record, advising a label, or troubleshooting a Pro Tools mix at 2 a.m., Kevin brings both technical expertise and a deep respect for the creative process.
SoundAdvice grew out of that same ethos: to give honest, encouraging, and actionable support to artists working outside the traditional studio system. Whether you're stuck in the second verse, struggling with your vocal chain, or just need someone to say “this is working—this isn't,” Kevin is here to help you move forward.
